I’ve spent a lot of time trying to identify who made GPO clocks. I came the consolation that whereas this Synchronous Clock doesn’t have a standard Gent’s movement that it was made by Gents’ if Leicester based on the style of how the serial code is printed on the back of the face.

If anyone disagrees with this…Feel free to comment.!!

    I have a Synchronome with a very similar movement . It is In fact made by Smiths .Just to confuse things .

  2. The code OAA was allocated to Gent & Co. Ltd. oh, hang on…

    96B – this is the clock type, it means a clock 96, the B meaning mains synchronous motor.
    OAA – Gent
    77 – Year it was siupplied to the GPO
    MK 2 – mark 2 version of the design.
