Don’t know much about this bell . It’s definitely not up to the usual Gents quality. Even the gong is painted . Definitely a low cost wooden bell . Probably one of the last . It’s only a guess but I would think it was made around 1960. Andy

I would agree with what you are saying. They are the same type and voltage to operate with a bell board, or stand alone door bell. The thing is for a Gents product the quality is not up to their normal high standard. So maybe it had other uses where appearance wasn’t so important Andy

Thanks for posting Andy, I’m assuming these were made to accompany servant call boards and in the case where a separate bell was required.
