Includes the original Design Council tag

Includes the original Design Council tag (reverse)

I bought this from eBay. I didn’t notice (at the time) the Design Centre tag. See below the advertising collateral that actually shows the tag in a print ad from The Architect Review Magazine in 1966!!! And having the original guarantee label really adds a nice touch to a styling Synchronous wall clock. I was surprise that it’s larger than standard synchronous clocks at 12 inches.

See the advertising collateral below which states these items were chosen by the Council of Industrials Design for display at the Design Centre London.

The Design Council

The Design Council, formerly the Council of Industrial Design, is a United Kingdom charity incorporated by royal charter. Its stated mission is “to champion great design that improves lives and makes things better”. It was instrumental in the promotion of the concept of inclusive design.

The Design Council’s archive is located at the University of Brighton Design Archives.

The Design Council operates two subsidiaries, the Design Council Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (Design Council CABE) and Design Council Enterprises Limited.
