As always, I love a challenge and once I saw the description declaring this dial as “not currently working” I was intrigued and ever hopeful that it hadn’t been connected to the mains. Thankfully this early example seems to have been left to gather dust and acquire a few facial scrapes at the end of its life off the wall but thankfully, once connected to an EC4 Impulse kit, it immediately clicked into life. This will be a major restoration project and I will devote the correct amount of time to this as it needs a serious amount of work to bring this back to something like how it originally looked. Another strange mix of styles where GENTS’ has paired a Roman numeral dial with C36 style hands and something I have never seen. As Colin and Derek have remarked, GENTS’ often used what was requested or available to supply many and varied clock and dial designs. Lost of dust, case damage and restoration work and maybe new glass but the most important thing is that it works and this will be all the more satisfying to bring back to somewhere near its original look.
