Gents 42 inch illuminated Tower Clock Face

This impressive clock originally came from a Clock tower in North Wales . It was one of 4 clock faces . The tower was dismantled and moved to a new location. At the time of re building new clock faces were installed. This one was rescued and probably the only one surviving. The main photo shows it in unrestored condition. As does the second one and also the impulse mechanism in the last .It doesn’t look to bad from the front but the Perspex face is badly warped and the back bracket that runs from top to bottom had its brackets where it’s fixed to the rim completely rusted off . So I had to fabricate new brackets, a bare metal re spray and quite abit more work.
On restoration I have decided to hang it on chains as it’s so heavy . I don’t like mixing new with old but I possibly will run a stip of LEDs round the rim to illuminate it . Switched on by a contact maker . It least with LEDs they can be taken off at any time and no permanent damage is done . I was going to put it in our Dining Room but as it’s so heavy I will have to put extra fixing under the floor and that’s not an easy job . Hence I keep putting it off . The outside picture shows it fully restored and temporary hung up outside for testing.  Andy
