I don’t believe Gents made their own accumulators so the tie up with Chloride must of been a slight advantage if only for a short time. Especially as the traditional impulse clock systems were coming to a end..
These could and were normally joined together to give higher voltages. These are new and were never used .Come dry charged and you just added the acid. As can be seen one is a GPO version from 79 the other is exactly the same but used in typical Gents clock systems in later years . Made of plastic and not the traditional glass. The GPO version was salvaged from our local telephone exchange by a ex employee when several were being thrown out. The other i acquired not long ago for a couple quid
